What is Udaan

Udaan aims to help the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, who are seeking to enhance and grow their careers. Udaan will provide skills and consequently employment to 8000 youth from Jammu and Kashmir per annum over a 5 year period in key high growth sectors. The programme is targeted at providing well-paying jobs to the trained manpower. It calls for organizations from across the country to select deserving candidates from the state, provide for training and place them either within their organization or outside or enable them to become entrepreneurs.

 

Udaan Process

  • Step 1
    • Prospective partner corporates submit a proposal to NSDC
    • Proposals are evaluated and approved by NSDC
    • Candidates (Graduates and Post Graduates) from Jammu and Kashmir register on the website
    • Partner corporates identify and select candidates through the website and recruitment drives
  • Step 2
    • Selected candidates are moved to the company training centers
    • Candidates will undergo rigorous training, ideally between 3 to 9 months, for a defined program with a clear job alignment
    • Travel, boarding and lodging costs will be reimbursed. A stipend will also be provided to the candidate during the training.
  • Step 3
    • At the end of training, candidates are interviewed for a job position in the same corporate
    • If successful, candidates are placed on agreed terms with the corporate
    • In the event a candidate is not placed with the same corporate, he or she will be connected to a placement agency
